Every week in our OnPage’s Eleven series, a different superhero tells you about a new feature of our new OnPage.org version. In the previous article, Merlin explained how to use the innovative PDF exports.
In today's eighth article, we proudly present the latest version of the OnPage.org keyword module which was completely redesigned in recent weeks.
Optimizing websites for search engines is a continuous process in which the optimization level is further improved with every iteration. In order to be able to measure the success of this process, regularly checking the "surge level" through keyword monitoring is very important.
OnPage.org users can perform weekly analyses of their keywords with OnPage.org Keywords, and thus track changes in their rankings. The OnPage.org Keywords module was completely restructured based on substantial feedback of OnPage.org users.
In the new OnPage.org Keywords module, web operators, agencies, and in-house teams are not only able to view current rankings but can also use the common filters of OnPage.org Zoom such as filters that focus on the title or certain parts of the URL.
With regard to competitor monitoring, OnPage.org Keywords is also going new ways. The new version now allows the comparison of current and previous rankings with any domain. Users can compare all rankings of any domain as well as the competitors that they monitor on a weekly basis.
Many tools monitor a very large number of search terms. Every now and then, significant changes in the domain’s visibility are observed even though the number of visitors has not significantly changed. In such cases, a closer look at the keywords will often show that many of the search terms listed usually have very little to do with the respective website. This is partly attributed to misspelled brand or product names. The larger the number of keywords, the harder it is to identify the keywords that are actually relevant.
In order to effectively monitor the performance of your website, it is therefore important to define your own set of keywords and focus your optimization on these. The following criteria are useful when choosing keywords:
After your log in, you can access OnPage.org Keywords through the navigation on the left sidebar.
